Music recital by Ariana Arcu
The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations and the Permanent Mission of OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie) to the United Nations, co-organizes "La Soirée de la Francophonie", a cultural diplomacy event celebrating the Francophonie.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 6pm to 9pm, at the UN headquarters in New York.

The program will include two cultural highlights, featuring artists of Romanian origin:
- the opening of the photography show by Roberto Dutesco; the exhibition displays a series of big size black&white photographs, inspired by Brancusi's "Endless Column";
- the music recital by cellist and soprano Ariana Arcu, accompanied live on piano, who will perform the following repertoire: Francis Poulenc - Les Chemins de L'Amour - voice and piano; J.S. Bach - Suite no. 3 in C Major (Prelude, Sarabande, Gigue) - cello solo; Giacomo Puccini - La Bohème: areas "Mi Chiamano Mimi" and "Donde Lieta" - voice and piano.

The event will also include speeches of senior officials from the UN, the ceremony of the Francophonie awards for outstanding activity in 2016, and a reception.

Participation is by invitation only.

- vernisajul expoziției de fotografie a artistului Roberto Dutesco; expoziția cuprinde o serie de fotografii alb-negru, de mari dimensiuni, inspirate de "Coloana fără sfârșit" a lui Brâncuși;
Bach - Suite no. 3 in C Major (Prelude, Sarabande, Gigue) - violoncel solo; Giacomo Puccini - La Bohème: ariile "Mi Chiamano Mimi" și "Donde Lieta" - voce și pian.
