The Embassy of Romania to the United States cordially invites you to the forth annual edition of The Kids Euro Festival Washington DC, October 14 - November 10, 2011
Over 200 free performances - puppet shows, magic, cinema, music, workshops!
Romania will be represented by “Puck” Puppet Theatre from Cluj-Napoca with the show The Book of Apolodor by Gellu Naum; Director: Mona Marian; Cast: Dana Bontidean, Calin Muresan, Silviu Rusti; Stage designer: Epaminonda Tiotiu; Music: Corina Sirbu; Video design: Cristian Luchian.
The story is about a little penguin who has a full time job as a tenor, entertainer and a little bit of an actor and skater on ice rink at a famous circus company in Bucharest, Romania. One day Apolodor said: “You know, I’m all for acting and singing as tenor in a circus… but I sooo miss my life of yore (in Penguin language: meea Duoor! Meea Duoor!), and dallying with brothers I adore!” So, he went back to Labrador, his old country… and the story tells Apolodor’s great journey back to Labrador, an imaginary journey around the world. The voyage was bliss, over icebergs tips and winding down straight to the North Pole and its blinding Lights, flying over Africa and around America, even to Arizona’s Camelback Mountain… (http://www.teatrulpuck.ro/)
