Mrs. Doina Uricariu
Director RCI NY

Known poet and essayist, member of the Romanian Writers' Association, the European Society of Culture, and PEN Club. Founding member of Civic Alliance. She has published nine volumes of poetry, awarded by the Writers’ Association of Romania, Moldova, Israel, and Latin America, as well as collections of essays and studies of literature, philosophy and art history about Emil Botta, Kierkegaard, Cioran, Jeni Acterian, Dominic Stanca, Maria Pillat-Brateş, Antonovich, and about Romanian, European and American avant-garde art. She holds a PhD in poetics and stylistics with the thesis Nichita Stănescu: Paradoxical Lyricism, published by Sun Style in 1998.
